Resveratrol

Resveratrol is part of a group of compounds called polyphenols. They are thought to act like antioxidants, protecting the body against damage that can put you at higher risk for things like cancer and heart disease. Resveratrol is found in the skin of red grapes, but you can also find it in peanuts and berries. This is why red wine is considered ‘good’ for you, because of the resveratrol contained in the skins of the grapes.

Resveratrol can help to lower blood pressure, benefit blood fats and help reduce cholesterol, slow down age-related cognitive decline, increase insulin sensitivity and ease joint pain.

Resveratrol also shares a lot of beneficial effects with many bioflavonoids, such as reducing the occurrence of osteoporosis, beneficially influencing fat cell production (in favour of long-term fat loss) and modulating blood pressure; usually a reduction of blood pressure.
